“I’m excited to see the turn out of this season and how far the boys will take us.” states the Boys Varsity Soccer Head Coach, Augustin Gonzalez lll.
The boys soccer season kicked off on Thursday, November 16th at Sanger West following two scrimmage games played against Washington Union and Strathmore High. Last year the boys landed third overall in the East Yosemite League. Tryouts for the 2023-2024 season took place on October 24th through the 26th. Rosters came out Wednesday, November 1st and the first official practice took place Thursday, November 2nd. The boys season will continue on through the end of the year and finish off in February of 2024. Playoffs will take place February 12th and February 16th. Section Quarter Finals will take place February 20th.
Some of the varsity players were asked: What’s one word that comes to mind when you think about the upcoming season?
David Medina answered, “Intrigued.”
Adal Castro answered, “Exciting.”
Ralph Villalobos answered, “Winning.”
