On Wednesday, December 6th, Black students from El Diamante High School attended a conference to learn about African-American History. Many students were able to attend this event that was held on the College of the Sequoias campus. They provided food for the students while they learned about the important history of Black leaders in the world. The students on the COS campus got to share what they have learned during their time being involved in the Black Student Union at the college level while also helping to inspire younger students to get more involved in these school groups and events.

There were many speakers such as Chris Molina, Brent Calvin, and members of the A2Mend Leadership Team. They talked about how there is a lot of Black history that isn’t written in textbooks or taught in school, and how it is disappointing that young Black students struggle to learn history about their ancestors in school.
Overall the A2Mend Leadership team inspired many of the students who attended the conference, and students can’t wait to participate in upcoming events in the future.
