Remember those brownies from your childhood? Here’s how to make them.
Brownie Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled (2 sticks)
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 3 large eggs at room temperature
- 1 large egg yolk at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour spooned & leveled
- ½ teaspoon salt
Fudge Ingredients:
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup is optional but adds glossiness
- ½ cup heavy cream
Toppings:
- Rainbow candy-coated chocolate chips.
Directions –
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined. Then, add eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla until combined.
Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt and whisk until combined.
Scoop the batter into the pan and spread it into one even layer. Bake for 27 to 33 minutes.
Remove and allow to cool.
TO MAKE GANACHE
Place chocolate chips and corn syrup into a large heatproof bowl and set aside.
Heat the heavy cream in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer. Pour in the heavy cream over the chocolate. Mix with a rubber spatula until combined.
Use a spatula to spread the ganache over the cooled brownies.
Sprinkle the candied chocolates over them.
