Last week on Halloween at noon, the iconic 2000s rock band My Chemical Romance announced a reunion show for December 20th at 8:30 pm at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. My Chemical Romance was an American rock band from 2001 up to 2013 when the band broke up so the members of the band could pursue their own careers. Many theories and speculations led people to believe they would return in 2019 due to what Gerard Way (lead singer) said in an interview about Smashing Pumpkins. He said that he wants his band to go in a similar structure as their band. Smashing Pumpkins were a band for twelve years before breaking up for six years and reuniting after. Their last album Danger Days was based on a comic Gerard Way made in which 2019 was “The Year of the Killjoys.”

However as 2019 rolled around, it seemed as if nothing were to happen. Gerard was busy with the netflix adaptation of his comic book series “Umbrella Academy” and the other members were occupied with other projects. However over the summer Joe Jonas, one of the recently reunited Jonas Brothers, publicly leaked their reunion by speaking on a podcast about an experience where he witnessed the band rehearsing in New York. He was criticized by many, as people assumed he saw Frank Iero’s band (Rhythm Guitarist) rehearsing.

However, with this new context, we know that he was indeed right as they are coming back for a show in December. It is speculated that they will go on a world tour after this show, and possibly even drop a new album, however, nothing has been confirmed thus far. The tickets went on sale at noon on Friday and sold out almost immediately! The venue they are playing in has a capacity of only 6,400, and with a high demand for the tickets, they were able to sell them all within about two minutes.
