In the beginning of 2023 the EDHS Ag Department was nominated for a variety of awards. In early September the following teachers were awarded multiple awards for excellence: Miss Martin, Mrs. Velhuizen, Mr. Montiero, and Mr. Brown.
Each of these teachers was awarded for Outstanding 3-4 person department for their section. This section includes VUSD high schools such as Hanford, Lemoore, Corcoran, and Avenal. Two individual teachers received their own awards: Miss Martin was awarded for Outstanding Young Teacher for the Tulare Kings section and Mrs. Veldhuizen was nominated for Teacher of Excellence and will continue to compete against other ag teachers in California.
