Aries is a large icon in the hyperpop and indie pop scene. He’s been producing music for a long time but released his first full LP in 2019 titled “WELCOME HOME.” While widely received well, his next album that dropped in 2020, “BELIEVE IN ME WHO BELIEVES IN YOU,” could be argued to be more iconic. After said album, Aries would go on to release one more song in early 2021 before going on awol. His hits were on everyone’s playlists, but fans of his couldn’t stand not having any news on new music. After 2 years of waiting, Aries finally announced a new single a couple days ago. “SNAKE EYES” dropped today and is amazing. Wyatt Otis, a guitarist for Aries and other hyperpop artists, is amazing on this track. The mix of strings is very chaotic but oddly works. Aries, who produced and sang on the track also did an amazing job. The song is one of my favorites from him already, and I’m really hoping that this means we’ll see a larger project soon.
One thing I neglected to mention was that before Aries was known as a musician, he did YouTube videos. His content usually consisted of making remixes and creating songs from weird sounds. It was really fun to watch the process of someone who knew what they were doing in a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). However, once his music popped off, he mostly stopped making the videos. The same day that Aries announced Snake Eyes, he mentioned that he was going to get back into YouTube videos. He’s already released two of them, so it’s safe to say that we’re on track to receiving more consistent content from the artist. Fans of his are excited to see what happens next, and hopefully, we’ll have more music to listen to soon instead of relying on old releases and leaked projects.
