Hiking is an amazing activity to do this winter break to keep your mind and body healthy. It is the perfect weather to do so since it is not so hot. I always love to hike near the coast to get beautiful views of the ocean.
One spot I often go to is the Sycamore Crest Trail on Avila Drive. It is an uphill trail, but it is only around a mile up and a mile down, so totaling to almost two miles complete. It is not too challenging, so it is a good trail for beginners. It’s a beautiful hike through an oak grove and once you get to the top, you get a beautiful view of Avila Beach. Also at the top, there are swings to sit on and enjoy the view.
Another one of my favorite hiking spots is in Los Osos. There are many different hiking/walking trails to do, but no matter which trail you take, you will have an amazing view the whole time. My favorite hike I have done in Los Osos was to Valencia Peak. It was a total of 4.4 miles of challenging uphill hiking, but the view at the end was all worth it.
