Fade

A ringing begins to echo through my ear going from the left to the right as it begins to get louder and louder it feels like my ears are bleeding as they had turned red from the collision, I slowly open my left eye that wasn’t swollen shut as the things around me appeared as if it was a big blur. My hand pressed down onto the floor feeling the cold wet cement that has tiny shattered glass pieces, I looked around me seeing nothing but street lights that were read and the cross-section being empty with no one but me in the middle of it all. I looked where my legs laid as they were underneath the heavy blue car on top of me crushing them as I tried to pull myself back away, smoke slowly floating up to the air as the car overheated with fire from the engine and it felt like I was trapped.

I looked down at my legs getting a clearer look my legs had deep wounded cuts that did not bleed but felt like they have gone down deep into the bone, my arms had scratches as they stained with red, I slowly touched one of the cuts as it felt like nothing but plastic or something hallow with nothing inside. I begin to breathe heavily in the cold weather turning my breath into white smoke and I try to lift the car putting pressure on my cuts as it felt like they were getting deeper, I groan in pain as if they were cries of pain.

I quickly moved my legs to the side as they moved away from the car finally being able to move but they felt glued together, I closed my eye and slowly took a breath in, beginning to pull apart my legs from each other hearing a ripping sound as they split apart. Threads tied them together slowly falling down to the floor. It felt like all of a dream, pain feeling like nothing and as I got up slowly onto my feet my legs trembled and my body began to shiver.

“Help!!” My voice was silent as nothing came out of my throat, I continued repeatedly to yell out for help but the lights around me began to flicker the only sounds coming out were my sobs with tears dripping down my face. As my body fell back to the floor all the lights around me began to turn off one by one, The only light being is the red traffic lights glowing down around me. Black figures began to walk among the darkness with different shapes as if they were human and all I heard were their sobs their tears hitting the ground, they came closer surrounding me my heart beating so loudly my heart hurting my chest.

“Who are you?! Why am I here?!” I continue to yell even with no words to those shadows and they stop before coming any closer, they lift their heads up as a broken shattered piece of their face shows only an eye with pale eyes and pale skin. Their lips turned to a frown mumbling something I couldn’t make out. I look at each and every shadow as if they were the same way with half of their face missing in the dark and just a big frown drawn onto their face showing emotions of sadness as if they had lost something.

“you for here left nothing is There” a little girl’s voice becomes clearer to me as I turn to her with her eyes gone and only their socket was shown. Her face seemed so strange with her face so young but the rest of her was missing, only made up of darkness. She repeated these words, her voice starting off from a soft gentle voice slowly getting deeper with each sentence she speaks. Everything fades away as the lights turn back on and the car has disappeared then the lights post gone so the light comes from nowhere. Then suddenly everything shakes around me, the cement splitting apart, no, it was as if it was going down from the surface, my body sinking down with the floor below me falling down further and further in like a rabbit hole then everything stopped staying still. The shadows above looked down at me, their sobs becoming faded and the space around becoming closer, closer, and closer trapped inside unable to move anymore. I scream out once again for help but the shadows fade away into thin air and I try to move but my body is held down, my voice silenced and my sobs fade. I just wanted to escape from this nightmare.

However, it wasn’t a nightmare, nor a dream, a casket slowly getting covered in dirt, a family burying their child who had lost their lives in a car crash. Their cries filled the cemetery and their child begged for help their lives were not lost but still inside was buried 6 feet down crying for help, he wasn’t heard and those shadows he had feared was his families cries and the scars on his body was from the crash he went through, he lost his life without knowing living in a constant nightmare replaying the accident with no end, in a loop…
