Over 185 million dollars has been given as part of a government program to Los Angeles to help generate more youth employment in underserved communities as a way to help build stronger communities as well as create a more equitable future for those involved in the program. CaliforniansForAll Youth Jobs Corp is headed by the state’s Chief Service Officer, Josh Fryday, who hopes to tackle our state’s most pressing challenges. The group employs thousands of people between the ages of 16 and 30, with a major focus on those transitioning out of foster care, to help create opportunities for them in their new stages in life. Recent events that have occurred in the world like Covid 19 have caused a major increase in unemployment. The program began with 150 million dollars given to 13 cities in California. Los Angeles, however, will receive another 53 million dollars raising the wage they pay their workforce to a minimum of 15$ an hour.
