The Untimely Death of Chadwick Boseman

By ROBERT RAMOS

Staff Writer

This past weekend on August twenty-eighth, Chadwick Boseman lost his battle with colon cancer. He would pass away in his home surrounded by his family in his home at the age of forty three.  He was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer in 2016 and had not spoken about it publicly. In the years after his diagnosis he would battle through and persevere to bring the audience entertainment. Making films such as Captain America: Civil War, Message From the King, Black Panther, 21 Bridges, and many beloved Marvel films. Prior to the diagnosis he would also play the first ever African-American MLB player Jackie Robinson in the film 42. Later playing the Godfather of Soul James Brown in Get On Up. Making incredible films and garnering an incredible fan base makes the loss of one of the world’s rising stars much more difficult. His career was seemingly set for even greater performances before his passing. The thoughts of millions globally are with his family and we here at El Diamante High School send our condolences to his family during this tragic time.
