It is never too late to get involved in clubs at El Diamante for those who weren’t interested before or didn’t have the time to sign up. A new club here on campus, Animal Charity, provides great opportunities to help out animals. The club is always looking for new members and ideas to help provide for animals in need. Started by Allison Rocha, a senior student who loves animals and has aspirations to help them in any way possible, hopes that this club will expand and share its passion for animals with students on campus, and later on, the community. Whether you see the importance of helping animals or barely get involved in charity, this club is a great start for involvement and fostering empathy.

President Allison Rocha has shared some of her solid proposals for the club and ways to get members involved in field experiences. The Animal Charity club has held a donation drive where people could donate old items such as blankets, towels, and animal food, and have also volunteered at shelters by walking dogs and running adoption drives.

Rocha believes that this can benefit the school because “it encourages people to help out where they usually wouldn’t.”

Trista Saechao, the club’s secretary, manages key responsibilities in making sure the organization is running efficiently and that all members are on the same page. The secretary position supports the club’s overall goals by “ providing smooth communication among students, and assisting meetings,” according to Saechao.
